    How To Use Jack's Notes

Jack is a lot like Cliff from your history class. You remember Cliff; you used his notes to cram a semester’s worth of study into the night before the final. Well, Jack’s Notes are a lot like Cliff’s notes: they’re short, they only cover the most important points and they’re written with the goal of preparing you in the shortest time possible. That’s why each e-business subject covered in Jack’s Notes takes about a minute to read. (Two minutes for those of us who read as slowly as Jack.)

Jack’s Notes have a simple layout.

We realize that Jack’s notes don’t look like much, but once you start using them you’ll see that all the most important stuff is there. You’ll also find that Jack’s notes follow a pretty simple and consistent pattern:

    1. Brief list of key points. First, Jack begins by listing the ten most important things he thinks everybody needs to know about the subject.

    2. Trouble spots. He then points out the biggest related problem areas that e-businesses regularly fall into.

    3. Avoiding the pot holes. Jack calls these potential problem areas “pot holes,” and after telling you where these ditches are, he recommends a detour around them.

    4. Things to think about. Next, Jack lists the key questions you’ll want to ask yourself before making any decisions on the subject being covered.

    5. The tools you’ll need. Finally, after giving you his ten best tips, identifying the trouble spots to avoid, and listing the questions you’ll need to consider, Jack gives you access to his private collection of resources. Listed under the heading “Go Do it!” Jack (with a little help from his friends) has assembled the best sources he has found to help you build, manage and grow your e-business. In this final section you’ll link to the tools you need to accomplish the important e-business tasks yourself; to the right sources, should you decide to have these tasks done for you; and to additional resources, should you want to learn more about the subject.

Jack’s Notes get to the bottom-line quickly.

Yes, the best part is that in Jack’s Notes you’ll find the important stuff, just the important stuff, and nothing but the important stuff, delivered to you in a fast, simple, occasionally amusing format.

So there’s your introduction to Jack’s Notes. By my clock we still have fifteen seconds, just enough time to dust off our keyboard and meet you in the next section.
